“20 Years in the Making” results from a series of conversations between Anna Talbot and Maud Traon, in which they reminisce, question, and reflect on the past twenty years of their careers. They revisit the highs and the lows, the disappointments and the successes, sometimes amplified by complex geopolitical and economic contexts.
At the heart of these reflections lies the persistent impulse to “keep going” — the drive that can sometimes blur the reasons why we started making in the first place. Yet beneath it remains what began it all: a deep love for making, and the memory of that youthful conviction that still drives you forward and once allowed you to overcome the most incredible obstacles.
For this project, Anna Talbot and Maud Traon look back at twenty years of making, showcasing their earliest pieces, works whose meanings have remained private all these years, and those that continue to remind them why they are still making today.
