#05, PLATINA – THE MEANING OR MANINGLESSNESS OF LIFE
JUNE 4th to 7th, 2026
CHATEAU-MUSEE GRIMALDI, 1st Floor, Salle des Audiences
Place du château, 08600 Cagnes-sur-Mer
The story follows a boy growing up in a small Swedish railway town in the early twentieth century, where his father works as a station porter. During the day he plays with his siblings and watches the trains rush past. The scents of nature and a close relationship with his family bring joy and hope, yet the fear that everything might be lost fills him with dread.
The novel revolves around the existential vulnerability of human life. The boy is constantly troubled by religious doubts, anxiety, and a paralyzing fear of death, his own and that of those close to him. In his search for meaning, he comes to embrace doubt and the possibility that life itself may be without meaning.
The invited artists have read the novel and present their own free interpretations in a shared exhibition.
PLATINA IS A JEWELLERY GALLERY AND A STUDIO, AND A SHOP, AND A MEETING PLACE, AND A LABORATORY, AND A WORKSHOP, AND A LOVELY PLACE.
PLATINA is located in Stockholm Sweden and was established 1999 to provide an audience with the art of jewellery. Since the beginning, many contemporary jewellery artists working with contemporary issues and expressions have been invited to exhibit and sell unique pieces in Stockholm.
Within the space we have a gallery, shop and studio and we regularly cooperate with other institutions, galleries and museums with magic things as exhibitions, popup events, experimental projects, lectures, education, seminars and more. Over the years, we have been working internationally with amazing artists and clients from all over the world.
The gallery is supported by The Swedish Arts Council.
