Artistically modulating the impact of fragrances, in other words, visually translating the olfactory universe, which implies that the artwork is not a volume, a mass, but an emanation in a given field. Restoring a contemplative gaze and bringing back the sense of existence, through and with our sensory receptors, establishing a space of inhabited silence, is the artistic approach of Véronique Pépin, a visual artist. Fabric, wax, vegetation, and minerals are the materials she uses, white being her color of choice. Some works are accompanied by the creation of a jewel involving the skin, the touch.
MYRIAM THEVENIAUD
Myriam Theveniaud’s jewellery is part of her series dedicated to lichens, delicate creations entirely crafted by hand using the needle and Lunéville crochet, an ancient technique of embroidery. Inspired by the organic forms of nature, her jewellery represents a skillful blend between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary aesthetics.
The process begins with the Lunéville crochet, which establishes the framework and outlines the volumes. Needle embroidery then comes into play of shadows and lights. The metamorphosis unfolds through hundreds of beads, clustering together to form strange organisms, between the mineral and the organic. The volumes take shape with calculated mastery, but also with a deliberate willingness to embrace artistic chance.
