The emphasis is on unexpected and original materials, offering a unique sensory experience. The designers, who come from a variety of artistic backgrounds, stand out for their boldness and boundless creativity.
The building of the city’s collection, which to date comprises around 300 pieces of jewellery, began over 20 years ago. It is made up of works acquired through temporary exhibitions, and has been enriched in 2019 by almost 165 pieces of jewellery thanks to the Alliages gallery donation. Wood, wool, ceramics, seaweed or plastic, or even noble materials put to the service of inventiveness, are honored in this “Surprenant” / surprising exhibition!
