Felieke van der Leest – Fiddling around with a Purpose

#18, FELIEKE VAN DER LEEST

FIDDLING AROUND A PURPOSE, Talk in english (translation in French)

SATURDAY MAY 4th, 10-11h

CHATEAU-MUSEE GRIMALDI, 2nd floor, Place du château, 08600 Cagnes-sur-Mer

Felieke van der Leest is trained as a traditional goldsmith and graduated in 1996 from the jewellery department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. She discovered that she could employ her beloved childhood pastimes of knitting and crocheting in an original way: she merged needlework and jewellery, combined art with a sense of humour.

With her keen eye for contemporary subject matter, narrative qualities and playful mind, her work constantly keeps developing in new directions.
